CAP exam - excited for this! 7 T. Riley LOL I am laughing at Donna's comment, considering it's HALF the reading of my usual first CAP weeks. :) It's certainly been a stressful past year and I think many people have discovered the same thing as you - not everyone is cut out to work from home. But I love that you are taking that feeling and channeling that energy into a more productive area. That is a great way to use this time! Let's go get you certified!

Spring 2021 CAP Exam 9 T. Diones I think that sense of moral support and a shared journey are one of the best things about doing a study group or class to prepare for the certification. It's so much more motivating to show up every single week when you know you aren't alone on your path. You can definitely do this. Let's get you certified!

Aloha e....CAP Spring 2021! 0 J. Poti Aloha, My name is Jeri Ann Poti and I am excited to begin my CAP Certification journey in 2021. I am co-Branch Director of the 'Oahu IAAP along with Nancy Azeri who just passed her CAP in October. I have been an Administrative Assistant since i went to Business College in 1985 in various professional offices over the course of my 30+ years career here in Hawai'i. I went back to school in 2007 and received my AS in Accounting and have been an employee of Kapi'olani Community College in the University of Hawai'i system for over 14 years. My current job title is Secretary to the Dean of Arts & Sciences in the Academic Affairs office under the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs. I want to give myself and other administrative assistants a sense of pride for their work at the campus, Student Success is Everyone's Kuleana (Responsibility). I hope to show others that being an administrative support person is more about supporting our executive admin team, but it's about being part of the whole picture. In addition I currently serve on several roles including the the Kapi'olani CC Alumni and Friends Executive Committee, KCC Student Success Thrive, HGEA (AFSCME) Union Shop Steward and Chair-Elect of our Kapi'olani CC Staff Council. I am currently the Professional Development Vice Chair on our Staff Council and have been looking for ways to encourage staff ever since I was nominated as a CCLC (Community College Leadership Champion from 2018-2019). If we continue to educate ourselves it will elevate all of us. The CAP Certification covers of all aspects of professional knowledge that we all can benefit from greatly in our current job and future job possibilities. With all that 2020 has brought on, I'm confident that the CAP will enable me to rise to a new level of professionalism in our current job and step in where there is a need to work together as a TEAM. KULIA I KA NU'U (Strive for the Highest!)

Is CAP Study Bootcamp enough 8 K. Lucier I think it is really hard to know how much is enough. The Capstone website states that it is not a CAP prep course. It's just an additional tool in your arsenal. (And thank you to my students for letting you know about my study group. If you have questions, feel free to drop me a private message. It just started this week.)

Project Managment Specialty Certificate Course 4 K. Lucier If you were thinking of pursuing the Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, it requires that a substantial amount of your daily activities revolve around project management. It's quite a rigorous certification. If you were referring to IAAP's project management specialty, it has a prerequisite of holding the CAP certification, as mentioned above.
