September 1st - Exam Scheduling Day 6 D. Bullis (Acholes) Best of luck! I also remember doing the self-study years ago with the Prentice Hall books. I'm glad there are more options today. Yes, the positive energy will do it!

Updated Time for Office Hours 3 Natasha Brewer @linda - office hours are for any question you'd like to pose to a live representative from IAAP HQ. You can even join if you don't have questions to hear what other people are asking - I often pick up new nuggets of info this way.

CAP Exam 2021 or 2022 10 P. Soliman Hi Petra! Welcome to IAAP. It's a great organization. As an fyi, I just opened registration on my Spring 2022 CAP study group, which will start in mid-December. I have many students that are only able to participate through the recordings, due to time zone differences and scheduling conflicts. So that's an option that is available to you. If you would like to learn more, feel free to reach out to me by private message. In addition, IAAP has CAP Q&A open office hours on the send and fourth Thursday of each month from 11 to 11:30 am central time. You might want to stop in there and ask your questions about the exam. :)

Sitting for the CAP Exam 11 A. Johnson The journey is an adventure. I believe when you sit down to take the exam you will know more than you thought you did. I started my adventure in 1981 and it was a very different exam and experience than the one you will have. It took me three sittings (in those days 6 parts, 2 days, once a year) and that was the average for all test takers. I admit I was a little jealous of those who passed on the first or second sitting. I still recertify to keep my certification current. I know you will succeed.

Spring 2021 CAP Exam 8 K. Gray Hello, congratulations on passing the CAP test. I am currently in Marie's study group. I am doing this journey to prove myself that as a French Canadian, being English as my second language, that I can do it, but honestly, it's hard because I don't read fast, I loose my focus, I feel I am falling behind, and am scared. You are the only one I am sharing this with... any advice?

Breaking through my comfort zone 8 D. Morrison The CAP has many benefits, but chief among them in my opinion is the personal satisfaction and self-esteem that comes with completing a goal of this magnitude. I am so glad you have decided to go for it and that I get to share your journey.

Why CAP... Why now? 3 D. Bennett I completely agree with you Debbie. I actually worked in retail prior to becoming an admin. I stumbled into the administrative professional world. A friend knew I was trying to pick up extra cash and she recruited me to fill in for their admin who was going on maternity leave. The admin decided not to come back and I ended up staying on board. That was a little over 20 years ago. Like yourself, I have piecemealed my career over the years through trainings, contract work, and various jobs. I just completed my certification this past Spring. I can honestly say, you will not regret it. You will learn a lot, you will confirm what you know and you will also gain confidence in your skill set. Enjoy the experience.
