Why CAP? 2 K. Nelson Love your post! That's one of the reasons I went for my CAP and now I'm getting my OM. Find ways to differentiate yourself from other assistants and give your employer more bang for their buck.

CAP test - September 2016 12 L. Blaylock Lisa, Your post was more valuable to more members contemplating the exam than all the posts of "I did it!" put together. Your courage in accepting and sharing not only that you took the challenge, but also the setback, and your commitment to try again is a wonderful example for those who are currently studying or planning to undertake this goal. In the words of John F. Kennedy, "We choose to go to the Moon! ...We choose to go to the Moon in this decade and to do the other things... not because they are easy, but because they are hard; because that goal will serve to organize and measure the best of our energies and skills, because that challenge is one that we are willing to accept, one we are unwilling to postpone, and one we intend to win." Best wishes to you, Lisa, for your success.

CAP Journey 1 H. Peterson You can definitely make it Holly! Isn't it exciting to be nearing the end of a lifelong journey? Start thinking about how nice it will be to put those initials after your name. It can definitely be a challenge to return to learning after a long absence, but it absolutely can be done. Think about what a wonderful example you are setting for kids and grandkids. This is YOUR year!!!

CAP Testing 1 S. Moushegian The map only shows where the test centers are located and it is in the process of being updated to reflect more international locations. It will be finalized in February. Once a candidate applies and is accepted to sit for CAP, they are sent a link to schedule their exam. It is two separate processes. The delivery of the exam is handled by a third party. If you would like to confirm if there is definitely a location in your area email me privately and I'll be happy to look but I don't know the exact addresses just the area. Thank you,Barbara

CAP Timeline 5 M. Archdale Hi Megan!I would recommend taking a good 4-6 months to prepare for the test. I have a study group starting in May for the September 2017 exam. I sent you an email about it. It can be a bit overwhelming to do by yourself. It takes a lot of time and self discipline. I do think using a study group (not just mine, any study group) is helpful in staying focused. I'll be running a webinar in the next couple months on Certification Options for Administrative Professionals, which walks you through learning about the CAP and the Microsoft Office Specialist exams. Keep an eye on this forum for the notice I will post. If you have any other questions, feel free to drop me a note. Marie

CAP Certification 2017 - My Choice 1 S. Skiba I think it's good for us to stretch our wings every so often and broaden our knowledge. It keeps us from getting too complacent in our jobs and taking the job market for granted. Good for you for going for the CAP and taking on a new position. So much to learn, but how much fun will that be!!!
