	My journey to the CAP exam	1		K. Smith	Well there's certainly nothing wrong with hoping that passing the CAP will lead to more money ultimately in your career. It may not be as direct a path for most as it is for you with your specific employer, but surveys have indeed found that over time certified admins tend to earn more money than non-certified admins. I'm so glad though that you are also looking at the larger picture of the knowledge gained, self confidence and self esteem and quality of employee you will be by pursuing this certification. To me, those intangible qualities are absolutely just as important as the potential financial benefits. Let's do this!!! by M. Herman Tuesday, December 6, 2016
	My journey to CAP Certification	1		P. Taylor	It's hard not to feel overwhelmed at the prospect of sitting for the CAP exam. It's definitely a worthy certification and that means it takes dedicated effort and work to achieve it. That's also why people can be truly proud when they have earned the credential. However, I have to point out that the test is a snapshot of one day in time. It does NOT define your value as an administrative professional (though it does ADD to it). YOU are WORTHY of the position that you hold whether you ultimately pass this exam or not. That said, I fully expect you will bring the needed effort to be able to pass this exam and I look forward to seeing you adding the additional letters to your name. :) by M. 	Going for the CAP!	2		L. Simone	I have found many of my students use the CAP exam as a stepping stone to returning to school. It gets them back into a reading and studying mindset, it reinforces that they are capable of learning new things, which boosts their self confidence, and depending on the school/program, passing the exam may count for credits towards a degree, which can save money and time. 	Taking March 2017 CAP Exam	2		C. MacVicar	I think it's natural to re-evaluate things when change hits us. It's a good way to shake up our complacency and light a fire under us to take actions we have been procrastinating on. I believe it makes us more accepting of change because we are more proactive in how we respond to it. One of the things I have seen over and over again with these study groups is the growth in self confidence and self esteem of the attendees. So often this ends up leading to increased roles at their workplace. I don't believe that specifically comes from passing the exam. I do believe though that their company leadership sees their employee being proactive, focused on professional development, displaying initiative and follow through and generally demonstrating leadership and success qualities. THAT's what I think companies take into account when watching their employees. You are starting on an epic journey. It's going to be an exciting and bumpy ride, but I can't wait for the day you can tell me about showing your coworkers and friends your own new acronym after your name. :D by M. This is the first one I have ever designed. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. :)Libby, I think there's several factors at play, including the release of the body of knowledge, which makes it easier to figure out the areas of the test as a whole.
